Non-Contact Transducers
|
|
Conventional ultrasound was always restricted in its applications by the need
for couplant between the transducer and the material. In 1983 we
introduced air and gas propagation transducers which also had their
limitations.
The new NCU has evolved from our relentless pursuit of creative devices
characterized by high efficiency in air. Now we can test materials that
conventional contact ultrasound could not "touch": composites, powders,
ceramics, foams, wood, plastics, etc.
Single and multi-element array NCU devices are now possible. Ultran's
transducer and mechanical design specialists can help you realize your most
demanding ultrasonic applications.
